The Research Scientist Track is a highly technical path where trainees are trained to champion an area of scientific investigation that is of strategic importance to the needs of Qatar and the MENA region in a duration varying from 24 to 48 months. This Scientist Track contains a set of flexible options where the trainees will pursue an advanced postgraduate Masters, PhDs or equivalent Doctoral Research in Sciences and Research at internationally recognized partner institutions, including Harvard University, Stanford University, MIT, Imperial College, Oxford University and Cambridge University, in focus-areas that correspond to national needs and future planning of research centers at Education City. Trainees in the Scientist Track will be sponsored abroad during their higher studies period. those who are highly skilled in critical thinking and problem solving and who are mainly interested in pursuing a career in technical research and its applications. The Scientist Track prepares the trainees to champion an area of scientific investigation with a returned benefit to Qatar and the region. Several areas have been identified as priorities for research such as Genomics, Proteomics, Stem Cells, Applied Nanotechnology and Molecular Imaging. Other areas of sciences not limiting to biomedical are energy, environment, computing and multidisciplinary research.
