a) International Science Partnerships :
Targeted Research Teams and Funds to support scientific advancement
- This program helps to establish new research programs (Centers,
Institutions) to target areas of research that give strengths to
QF’s research agenda and support other Qatari research initiatives.
It is meant to direct concentrated efforts in a particular area of
work that is of strategic importance to QF and Qatar.
- This also helps put together research teams that are required to
kick start future programmes that have been identified in the long
term plan of QF in which the expertise needed is currently not
available or because it is new to Qatar.
b) Scientific Coordination & Compliance :
Scientific Coordination
- This involves developing a strategic plan for advancing scientific
research activities in QF, serving to give clarity in the long term
development of scientific research activities in QF to ensure
synergy and integration.
- This program also allows the Research Division to establish a model
to advance science and technology research activities in a
coordinated manner linking with the National Research Strategy.
Scientific and Research Compliance
This program involves the development of strategies and plans for
research with clearly identified programmes for QF. This serves to
provide clarity in the direction and advancement of biomedical
research within Education City.
To ensure the highest standard for the conduct of scientific
research within education city, including but not limited to.
- Bio-safety
The bio-safety legislation is seen as a critical milestone for
biomedical research to progress in Qatar. This program is designed
to help implement the bio-safety legislation within Education City
in coordination with relevant authorities (i.e. Ministry of Health)
and research implementers within Qatar and Internationally.
- Chemical and Radioactive Research Materials Use and Disposal
This is conducted in coordination with relevant authorities
- Other Issues as Appropriate
c) Institutional Research and Monitoring :
The institutional review is a critical task to ensure transparency,
assessment and accountability of research programs funded by QF and
conducted within Education City.
